KINGSVILLE- June V. Livingston Rausch, 94, passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 1, 2016 at The Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident since December of 2010.
She was born on June 20, 1921 in Farrell, Pennsylvania the loving daughter of Erich Paul and Myrtle Tidmarsh Weichert.
June was the loving wife of John R. Livingston (deceased) and George S. Rausch (deceased.) Cherished mother of Erich A. Livingston and step-mother of Rebecca McGrath. She was preceded in death by her sons, John Weichert Livingston who died on the USS Scorpion disaster with all aboard in 1968 at the age of 25 and George Murray Livingston in 1998 at the age of 54 from cancer. Beloved sister of Eric Murray Weichert and his wife, Geraldine (both deceased). She is survived by nieces, nephews and many grand and great-grandchildren.
June’s father owned and operated Weichert’s Bakery, which later became Olde Time Bakery at the corner of 58th and McCreary/Main Avenue, until his untimely death in 1935 from a car accident while delivering baked goods to Geneva-on-the-lake. She was a kind, charitable and compassionate wife, mother and friend to many. June was known for her sense of humor, loved to play cards with friends and enjoyed the most challenging crossword puzzles.
At June’s request there will be no calling hours. She will be inurned at the Weichert family plot in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Ashtabula, Ohio.
