"Aunt" Edna C. Literati
KINGSVILLE- "Aunt" Edna Caroline Literati, 99, of Conneaut, passed away, Sunday, April 12, 2015, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 29, 1915, in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Caroline (Carly) Kuhn, and had been a lifelong area resident. Edna graduated from Conneaut High School and then went on to attend Howe's Cosmetology School in Erie. Edna married the love of her life, Alex Literati, on December 21, 1942. They enjoyed annual trips to Florida to visit family and friends. Edna retired from General Electric in Conneaut in 1978.
Edna was the founding member and President of the Happy Oldsters Group. With the group, she traveled to many destinations including Hawaii. In her full 99 years of life, she was the longest standing member of the Amboy United Methodist Church. She participated in church activities and volunteered many hours in the church office during her 85 year membership. She was an excellent pie baker and enjoyed sharing them with others. Edna was a very active person and enjoyed walks by the lake, photography, crafts, sunsets, lighthouses and nature.Most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.
Edna is survived by her niece, Cindy (Donald) Janda of Conneaut; great-nieces and nephews, Dr. Jeffrey (Jill) Janda of Atwater, Ryan (Heidi) Janda of Alexandria, VA, Kristen (Jim) Jandaof Westlake; great-great- niece and nephews, Jewel, Jenson and Noah Janda; nephews, Clarence "Sonny" (Kathy Boustead) Pratt of Conneaut, Jim (Annette) Kuhn of Sagamore Hills, and Nita Zmarzly of Garfield Heights, Greg (Carole) Littell of Malone, NY, Deborah Littell ofMarstons Mills, MA, Goldie Uveges of Fort Myers, FL, Kathie (Dave) Duvall of Fort Myers, FL; goddaughter, Susan Miller of Englewood, FL; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alex in 1967; her parents; siblings, Helen (Bill) Pratt, Hubert (Virginia) Kuhn, Charlotte Marks, Kenneth (Hazel) Kuhn; and many friends.
A Celebration of Edna's Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Amboy United Methodist Church, 554 West Main Rd., Conneaut, with Pastor Mary Prior officiating.
Memorial contributions in Edna's name may be made to the Amboy United Methodist Church.
