Obituary of Richard E. Campbell

Richard E. Campbell, 85, of Kingsville passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. Richard was born on December 17, 1931 in Conneaut, Ohio the son of Clyde H. and Mary N. (nee Bancroft) Campbell. Dick retired from the former Union Carbide in 1986, where he worked in traffic. After retiring he enjoyed driving bus and filling in as a custodian for Happy Hearts and Ash/Craft. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsville. Richard enjoyed hunting and wood working. In his younger years he raced cars at Raceway 7. He is survived by his wife, Carole L. (nee Murkens) Campbell, whom he married August 22, 2006; sons, Dean A. Campbell and James (Cindy) Campbell; step-daughters, Cindy (Dennis) Frampton, Pam Green and Christine (Brian) Potts; step-sons, Fred (Betty) Green and Joe Green; grandsons, Andy Campbell, Tim (Teacha) Campbell and Kevin (Tiffany) Kohlman; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; sister, Alice (Robert) Headley; brother, Leroy (Ruth Ann) Campbell; and a brother-in-law, John Rich. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lola L. (nee Hart) Campbell in 2006; son, Steven Campbell; sister, Doris Rich; and a step-son, John Green. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM at the Thompson Smith Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 P.M., with Rev. David Hines, officiating. Graveside committal service will be held, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Gageville Cemetery.
