Obituary of Richard S Stasiak

Monroe Twp.- Richard S. Stasiak, 86, of Beckwith Rd., passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 16, 2016. Dick was born in Akron on April 2, 1930 the son of Thomas and Sophia (nee Zdounczyk) Stasiak. Richard owned and operated Whispery Pines Lumber, where he worked his horses daily; he also worked for 16 years at Locke Machine in Andover. He could be found at most of the area fairs each summer showing his draft horses. Dick enjoyed using his horses for weddings and funerals. Mr. Stasiak is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Babcock) Stasiak; daughters, Linda (Jerry) Bryan of Andover, Barbara (Thomas) Sokowski of Carrollton and Barbara (Ed) Rettinger of N. Kingsville; sons, Thomas (Denise) Stasiak of Andover, Dr. Steve (Joan) Stasiak of Minerva and Eugene Leopard of Pierpont; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Taylor Rettinger. Calling hours will be held Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, 4841 Route 84, from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20 at 11:00 A.M. at Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Larry Carr, officiating. Burial will follow at the Kelloggsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Dick may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church.
