Obituary of Ida Mae Olin

Sheffield Twp.- Ida Mae Olin, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017. Ida Mae was born on December 27, 1950 in Conneaut the daughter of Elwin and Vivian Charlotte (nee Dewey) Olin. She graduated from Edgewood High School Class of 1968, where she was inducted in the Hall of Fame. Ida Mae was conferred a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 1972 from Baldwin Wallace and a Masters of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Penn State in 1974. After graduation, she became a software developer with IBM for over 30 years. A lifelong member of Gageville United Methodist Church, she served the church in many positions and most recently served as chairwoman of the board. Ida Mae was instrumental in opening the All Things Coffee House in Kingsville. She was a master gardener and loved gardening. Ida Mae is survived by her brother, David (Elizabeth) Olin; brother-in-law, Norm Herl; nieces and nephews, Justine (Graham) Shearstone, Richard (Darci) Herl, Holly Olin, David (Tami) Olin, Ben (Adrienne) Olin and Darron (Miranda) Olin; and four great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Rose Ann Herl. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Gageville United Methodist Church, 4063 Rt. 193, Gageville, where family and friends will be received from 10 AM. Pastor Terry Simpson will preside. Final resting place at Gageville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Ida Mae may be given to the Gageville United Methodist Church, PO BOX 439, Kingsville, Ohio 44048.
