Obituary of Rodney W. Huey

Kingsville- Rodney William Huey, 53, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home in Kingsville surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ashtabula on October 26, 1963 the son of Carol Reed Huey and Ronald Huey. Rodney lived most of his life in Kingsville. He graduated from Edgewood High School and Vo-Ed Technical School in 1981. Rodney was employed with White's Fruit Farm, Telemedia Cable TV, Domino's in Conneaut, Star Beacon, and GemCare Medical Services. Rodney loved gardening, planting beautiful flowers, and loved doing any carpentry work. He had a real talent of being able to visualize a project and make it happen. Rodney remodeled the family home over the years and made it a real show place. He loved playing with all his nephews and nieces and never missed one of their birthday parties. Rodney was Baptist by faith. Rodney had been a diabetic since he was five years old and had many health issues, which he never let them get him get down. He always had a very positive attitude and was an inspiration to everyone he met. Rodney was the recipient of three transplants at the Cleveland Clinic. He is survived by his mother, Carol Huey of Kingsville; father Ronald Huey of Maine; brothers, Jeffrey and Stephen Huey; sisters, Cheryl Huey, Patti Leonardson, Stephanie Taggart and Natalie (Joe) Cawley; nieces and nephews, Crystal (Michael) Johnson, Cody Leonardson, Ruby (Brad) Paramore, William, Brandy, Genna, Bridgette and Larisa Taggart and Heather Cawley; many great-nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Huey and Howard and Lounetta Reed. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 12 NOON at the Thompson Smith Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where calling hours will be held from 10 AM until time of services at NOON. Burial will follow at LuLu Falls Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice for the loving care of Rodney and for all of their support and assistance. In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Rodney, may be given to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula or the Family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
