Obituary of Mary Ann Burns

Mary Ann Burns, 87, longtime resident of Conneaut, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. She was born on March 28, 1928 in Conneaut, Ohio to Darrell and Laura J. (nee Hogle) Heasman. Mary Ann was a longtime member of New Leaf United Methodist Church and the former 1st United Methodist Church in Conneaut, as well as the Conneaut Elk's BPOE, Auxiliary. She was a beautician for several salons in the area. Mrs. Burns enjoyed playing on the ladies County Shores Golf League for many years. She also enjoyed swimming, boating, square dancing, round dancing, and singing in the church choir. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Eigel of Hillsboro; son Michael (Vickey) Burns of Conneaut, Ohio and James (Cheryl) of Bellevue, Ohio; grandchildren, Scott (Erin) Burns, Kristen Burns, Christine (Matthew) Martin, Laura Eigel, Austin Burns, Brennan Burns and Kaitlyn Burns; and one great-grandchild, Collin Burns. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Joseph L. Burns. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be held, Friday, April 3, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be given to the New Leaf United Methodist Church, Building Fund.
