To my dear brothers and sisters,
She truly is Mama Lyons and is as cute as a button. Just look at her in that picture. Too precious. She is a huge part of my childhood memories and I will always cherish her.
My tears are flowing as I think of your loss. My heart is broken and I share in your sorrow at this time. But, I also rejoice with you because we all know where she is and Who she is with. Our precious Lord and Savior.
She is with my Mom now too and I'm sure they are laughing and enjoying one another. Praising our Savior. No more tears or pain for either one of them. Hair flowing down their backs. Skipping and singing. They are in their mansions that Jesus prepared for them.
I wish I were there to hug and squeeze you up.
Kisses to you all.
Love,
Joanie & Terry Thai

When the Keyes family came to Plymouth we were all young. I had never even spoken to a black person in my life, and was a little suspicious of this new girl and her brother in my class. It wasn't long, though, before Dorothy and I became friends, and although Paul was not as close, I liked him. I was with Dorothy the day she was told her brother had died from wounds received in Korea, and I felt so sad for her. Until the day of her wedding to Robert we were buddies and each other's confidante. The wedding was charming. She was the first of my classmates to marry.
Over the years we kept on touch only sporadically, especially after I married, as we were both busy with growing families. We did get together for lunch a couple of times after our little ones were out on their own or at school. As always, it was delightful to spend time with her.
I am so sorry for the loss of this great lady to her family and friends, but I have a feeling she and Robert are rejoicing at being together once again. I love you, Dorothy.

After reading this beautiful tribute, I am in awe of Dorothy Lyons and all she accomplished during her time on God's earth. We have known first hand, the beauty of her love as shown through her daughter,Harriet Renee, who walks a similar path; the one she learned from her mother and father. Our hearts hurt for your loss. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Harriet and family,
My deepest sympathies at this difficult time. While we know in our hearts that our loved ones who have passed are finally at peace in Heaven, we still miss them. Now, more than ever, lean on God and on those things that your parents taught you are truly important in this world - your faith, and your family. Prayers for you all.
God bless!

Your mom and dad stayed with me and my family for years when Apostle A. Dickens would have Bishop come down for revival. They were truly a blessing in my home when they stayed. The love that they shared was very special. Mother Lyons was a humble woman and set standards very high as a woman of God. It was a pleasure for them to stay in our home. A great couple of God setting example of Godly people. You guys have much to be thankful for to have had parents that was" after Gods own heart". My prayers are with your family that God will forever bless you and take you all through. God will be your strength in times like these. God bless you all!!
