Obituary of Kathryn Loomis
Kathryn Marlene Loomis, 85, lifelong resident of Conneaut passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born on February 11, 1932 in Conneaut the daughter of James H. and Nancy I. (Brady) Johnston.
Kathryn was Baptist in faith and was also a member of the Pythian Sisters. She was a very crafty person and belonged to several sewing clubs, including stich-in-time. Kathyrn spent many hours crocheting beautiful afghans, painting and making crafts. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Loomis is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Duane R. Loomis; children, Kathie L. Burns of New Port Richey, FL, Nancy L. (Douglas) Phillips of Conneaut, Robin D. (Greg) Williams of St. Petersburg, FL, Jeffrey D. (Barb) Loomis of Palm Harbor, FL, Valerie S. (Tim) Pender of Goosecreek, SC, Janelle R. (John) Greene of Springboro, PA and Allison M. Herb of Conneaut; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, David G. Johnston of San Antonio, TX and William F. Johnston of W. Springfield, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James H. Johnston in infancy and Bernard L. and Dewey C. Johnston; and a son-in-law, Robert E. Burns.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM at the Thompson Smith Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut and also on Friday, December 22 from 10AM until time of services at 11:00A.M. Private burial at East Conneaut Cemetery.
