Obituary of Blanche M. Lawrence
Kingsville- Blanche M. Lawrence, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 3, 1930 in Conneaut, Ohio the daughter of James Q. and Elizabeth (Howard) Brady and remained a lifelong resident of the area. Blanche married the love of her life, Verlin O. Lawrence on July 1, 1950. She attended Jefferson Church of the Nazarene and was a former member of the North Kingsville Free Methodist Church, the Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she taught Sunday school and the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, where she was active with the 55+ group.
She will be remembered for being a great home maker, taking wonderful care of her family and loved spending time with them. Blanche always had a smile, despite any difficulty she may be facing. She was a phenomenal baker and made the best apple and blackberry pies. Blanche liked to make crafts, enjoyed tending to her flower gardens at home, watching the birds, and playing with her cats.
Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her sons, Daniel (Rita) Lawrence of Rantoul, IL and Kevin (Karen) Lawrence of Kingsville; grandchildren, Danny (Karly) Lawrence, Adam (Nicki) Lawrence, and Tiffany and Trever Lawrence; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Brady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 63 years, Verlin O. “Fid” Lawrence on May 28, 2014; great-grandson, Lucas Lawrence; and her siblings, William Brady, Paul Brady, Jim Brady, Naomi “Nicky” Myers, Ruth Lawrence and Dorothy Griffis.
Calling hours will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 from 6PM to 8 PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, August 11 at 11:00AM at the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, 55 E. Satin St., Jefferson, with Rev. Rodney Kincaid, officiating, where an hour of calling will be held from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Serenity Suites, Skilled Care Unit at Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula County Nursing Home and Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care they provided Blanche over the past few years.
Memorials in memory of Blanche may be given to the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene or the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available.
