Obituary of Jeffrey D. Giles

Conneaut- Jeffrey David Giles, 59, lifelong resident of Conneaut died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at his home after a brief illness.

He was born on April 22, 1960 in Conneaut the son of Donald D. and A. Pearl (Waid) Giles. Jeffrey graduated from the Conneaut High School Class of 1978. He was employed for over 20 years with General Aluminum and was currently employed with Conneaut Leather.

A shy and introverted individual, yet had the biggest heart for his family, animals and work family. A true Cleveland sports fan, he cheered on the Browns, Indians and Cavs regardless of their record. Jeffrey loved the Christmas season and giving gifts to his nieces and nephews. He also was a very hard worker and valued his job and those he worked with.

Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Pearl Giles; sister, Sandra (Dan) Rivera; nieces and nephews, Kirk (Kellie) Giles, Deanna Brown and Tony Rivera; great-nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Kadie and Kody Giles, Jadynn Rivera, and Alexis, Austin and Aiden Brown; and an aunt, uncle and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald D. Giles; brother, Robert Giles; grandparents, Pearl and Frank Giles and Viola and Benjamin Waid; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 3PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Conneaut, where friends and family will be received from 2PM until time of services at 3PM. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials in memory of Jeffrey may be given to the Ashtabula County APL.
