Obituary of Robert Bessant
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Conneaut – Bob Bessant, 93, was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Ashtabula County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where he received excellent care and loving attention for several years. The staff and residents referred to him affectionately as "Bob is Bob," acknowledging his unique personality. In his formative years, Bob suffered from epilepsy and lived a sheltered life in the care of his parents and after they passed and by the grace of God, Bob slipped on a patch of Ice, cracked his head on the sidewalk and never suffered another epileptic episode and was thus able to live in his parents' home for many years with the help of family friends, Merlin and Leah Mead and then John and Carol Mead.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Hazel (nee Hibler) Bessant.
Special thanks to his Church family at the New Apostolic Church in Kingsville, his nurse, Brenda Kapen, housekeeper Teita Wright, the Hospice of the Ohio Western Reserve and ACNRC.
A graveside service will be held this Saturday May 6th at 10 AM at the East Conneaut Cemetery with Pastor William McNutt officiating. Donations in Bobs memory can be made to the New Apostolic Church, 5802 Cemetery Rd. Kingsville, OH 44048
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Online guestbook and condolences available at www.thompsonsmithnesbitt.com
