Obituary of Wilma L. Hawkins

Albion- Wilma Lois Ploss Hawkins, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
She was born on November 14, 1932 in Ripley, New York the daughter of Nellis and Lenora (nee: Silvernail) Ploss.
Wilma married the love of her life, George Hawkins on March 24, 1951 in Erie, Pennsylvania and preceded her in death on January 15, 2015.
Wilma enjoyed baking, flower gardens, crocheting, tending to her animals, goats, and her German Shepherd.
Most important was her relationship with her heavenly father, Jehovah, God. She loved reading the bible regularly and sharing with others what she had learned. Wilma was a devoted, baptized, member of the Jehovah's witnesses for 80 years.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George I. Hawkins, Jr.; son, David L. Hawkins; along with 17 siblings and many dear friends.
She leaves behind one brother, John Ploss of Union City, PA; three daughters, Deborah K. (David) Copeland of Albion, PA, Patricia Reffner of Houston, Texas, and Suzan (William) Gunter of Conneaut, Ohio; her beloved 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 and 3:00PM at the Girard Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7200 Meadville Rd., Girard, PA, 16471, with Elder Roger Graham, Presiding. Private inurnment at East Conneaut Cemetery.
