Obituary of Ronald George Brunot

KINGSVILLE- Ronald G. Brunot, 71, of Conneaut passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 22, 1942 in Meadville, PA, the son of the late George and Marjorie (Hall) Brunot. Ron graduated in 1960 from Randolph East Mead High School, in Guys Mills, PA. Mr. Brunot was a US Army Veteran serving our country during Vietnam; he was stationed in Fort Gordon, GA and was honorably discharged in 1963.
Mr. Brunot was the owner and operator of R.B Glass in Conneaut for many years. He also spent many years working for Meadville Plate and Glass and for Brunot and Hollabaugh Glass in Meadville, PA.
Ron was a member of the Conneaut Lions Club, American Legion Post #151, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #472, Fraternal Order of Eagles #408, as well as affiliate member of the Meadville Club, LEBC, Conneaut Elks Lodge #208, Union member of the Local Glazers #751 of Pittsburgh, PA, and also served as a Reserve Officer with CPD #51.
Brunot was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, motorcycling, and NASCAR. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
Ron is survived by his children, Rick (Patty Picard) Brunot of North Kingsville, Cindi Brunot and LeAnn Chester of Lantana, FL, Doug (Nickey) Brunot and Pamella Brunot both of Conneaut; five grandchildren, DJ (Wendy) Brunot of Land-O-Lakes, FL, Molly Brunot of Conneaut, Steve Altman of Land-O-Lakes, FL, and Samantha Altman of Lakewood, OH; and his former wife Collette (Tom) Shugerts of Conneaut; his siblings, Carole (William) Wentworth of Vail, CO, Roger (Nancy) Brunot and Susan (Keith) Chilson both of Frenchtown, PA, and John Brunot of Edinboro, PA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Conneaut Moose Lodge # 472, 280 Park Ave., Conneaut, with Pastor Tim Kraus of the Conneaut Church of Christ officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Cowel Post #151. A continued time of fellowship with the family will follow after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004 or the Conneaut Lion Club, PO Box 615, Conneaut, OH, 44030.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and compassion given to Ron.
