Erie, Pennsylvania- Anita M. Glover, 76, of Erie, PA and formerly of Conneaut, Ohio passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at Sunrise Senior Living in Erie, PA., after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Anita was born in Conneaut, on January 12, 1938 the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Wallbridge) Howland of West Springfield, Pennsylvania.
She was known for her musical abilities, playing both piano and the organ. Anita taught piano and organ lessons in her home to numerous men, women and children over a span of 40 years. She faithfully played the organ for the Federated Church in East Springfield, as well as St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Conneaut, and the Thompson-Smith and Raisian Funeral Homes. Anita played for countless weddings and funerals through the years.
Along with music, Anita enjoyed planting flowers, cross stitch and needlepoint. She also enjoyed caring for her grandchildren when she was able.
Mrs. Glover is survived by her four children, David (Tracy) Glover of Columbus, OH, Lisa (Mark) Adams of Ashburn, VA, Stephen (Anita) Glover of Millcreek, PA and Sharon (Paul) McKinley of Emmitsburg, MD. Anita also has many grandchildren, Lindsey (Tim) Tobin, Tyler Glover, Chelsie Adams, Caleb Adams, Julia Glover, Erica Glover, Taylor Glover, Isaac Glover, Kenzie Tredway, Logan Tredway, Sophia Tredway, Kayla (Jason) McKinley-Hewitt, Megan McKinley, Sarah McKinley, Cody McKinley, Josh McKinley; as well as two great-grandchildren, Lily McKinley and Araya Hewitt; sister, Carol (Irvin) Thompson of Atlanta, GA, and their two children, Kevin (Terri) Thompson and Julie Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Howard T. Glover in 2010; and a son-in-law, Steven Tredway.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Federated Church of East Springfield, 11995 East Main St., East Springfield, PA, with Pastor Robert Pettis, officiating. Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut on Monday, July 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., as well as from 12 Noon until time of service at 1PM at the church on Tuesday.
