Bernice E. Szalai, 81, of Hildom Rd, Monroe Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her home.
She was born in North Hampton, Ohio on September 26, 1931, to Paul and Corine (Reese) Georgia. She married the love of her life, Mike A. Szalai on June 6, 1949.
Mrs. Szalai enjoyed working in her garden, collecting porcelain dolls, and spending time with her family and friends.
Bernice is survived by her sons, Michael S. Szalai, of, Burbank, OH, Paul M. (Lori) Szalai, of Monroe Twp, Timothy W. Szalai of Monroe Twp., Dale R. (Kimberly) Szalai, of Dorset; sisters, Jeanette (Ed) Dial of Mt. Vernon, OH, and Delores Avon of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Timothy and Joseph Szalai, Tracie and Kristina Szalai and Rose Szalai; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many extended family.
She rejoins her husband of 64 years, whom passed just 11 days ago on June 30, Mike A. Szalai; and sister, Midge Boone.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11 AM at the THOMPSON-SMITH-NESBITT FUNERAL HOME, 345 MAIN ST., CONNEAUT, with Rev. Tim Kraus, of Conneaut Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, July 12, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00.
