I loved Kathy! Teaching with her at Gateway Elementary was so much fun! She taught me the importance of laughter and being yourself. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. You were blessed to have her in your life.

When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know. A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies, it brings us together again and again i was fortunate enough to share Cathy last birthday. I saw so much love among family and friends. To the family she IS the wings beneath your feet.

Our deepest sympathies to Kathy's family, prayers and hugs to you all. Just know that she touched many hearts with her fun loving humor and kind personality. We were friends from high school and beyond and though we lost touch with you all around 1982 when we left the area, we have so many fond memories of fun times.

We went to high school together, Kathy taught my children at Lakeview, and later in life had great times traveling on bus trips. My prays go to her family whom she always talked about. She will be missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom. I have many found memories of her. We shared a lot through the years. We were all family while raising our kids together. It wasn't always easy, but we made the best of it while sharing laughter and many tears. Kathy brought joy and laughter into our lives. I hope you are comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain. She loved you all of you so. Her life was her kids and she was so proud of all of you. I hope you find the strength to get through the days ahead.

Mrs. Plats was my third grade teacher at Lakeview Elementary, she was an awesome, loving, kind and patient person. I fondly remember how she use to click her pen. I can honestly say she was one of my very favorite teachers. It is obvious why God called her home. She was an angel here on earth and she will be a beautiful angel in heaven.

I worked across the hall from Kathy at Lakeview Elem. I taught 4th grade. Kathy took me in and we became fast friends. She was helpful and kind, vibrant and fun. After Lakeview closed we enjoyed monthly dinners together at our favorite restaurant. I loved Kathy and will miss her greatly. My thoughts and prayers with her family.
