The first time I met Jim he made me giggle! I was so extatic when he met my best friend my sister my mamma Hathy and they just CLICKED! WISH my phone was working coz having a hard time getting back to Mamma H but I know Red would snicker at my frustration then look me in the eye and calmly state "patience is a virtue" Love and miss you both BUT I KNOW RED WILL BE THERE WHEN BABY GETS MARRIED

Jim and I attended high school together. He also accompanied me in moving Mike and Karen Bittner to Colorado Springs in January 1979. Coming back we drove through a terrific snow and ice storm. Only God’s grace brought us through. Jim was a fine man and great travel companion. I hope see you on the other side my friend.

As a kid, Jim would take me for short rides on his motorcycle and taught me how to fish. The days of getting up and getting everything loaded to go to the pond where some of the best of my childhood. He taught me how to tie a hook onto the line, bait my hook and everything. In 2021 I got to take my niece out to meet Jim and Kathy and watch as he taught her how to do everything he taught me. It meant so much to see it and I will never forget it.

I served with Jim in the Republic ofViet Nam from November 1968 to March 1969.
I was an Artillery officer supporting Company C 1st BN 2nd Infantry as a forward observer directing missions under fire. Jim operated our radio on combat patrols. We faced the enemy side by side in many battles. He was very heroic never hesitating to do his duty.
We developed a brotherly relationship and I will find him in heaven when I answer the call.
